Chemical Safety

  • ALWAYS add chemicals to water, not water to chemicals
  • NEVER mix chemicals, add them to the pool separately
  • Keep chemicals out of the reach of children and pets
  • Store chemicals in a cool, dry well ventilated location out of direct sunlight
  • Keep lids securely fastened at all times
  • Do not use chemical containers for other uses
  • Do not smoke when handling or adding chemicals to the pool
  • Wash your hands with soap and water after using chemicals

Swimmer Safety

  • ALWAYS supervise children while around/in the pool
  • Pool deck should be kept clean and clear of debris
  • Decks should be non-slip
  • All glasses and dishes should be non-breakable
  • No running or rough play around the pool
  • NO DIVING into pool
  • If your pool is equipped with a child safety barrier, keep it closed when the pool is not in use
  • Be careful with inflatable toys and mattresses. REMEMBER: those items are also deflatable.
  • Children should rest periodically to avoid over exhaustion
  • Begin teaching your children to swim at the earliest possible age. Until they learn to swim well, teach them to scream in the event they should fall in the water. This will greatly increase the chance of someone hearing them and coming to their rescue.
  • Alcohol and water do not mix, be responsible
